May 23, 2008 We arrived at
Thunder Bay
after about a 5 hour drive, with 4 of those on the beautiful north shore
of Lake
Superior.
Canadian Customs
must have thought we looked suspicious because we were pulled to the
side and had to go inside to have our data checked. We all came up clean though
and they let us cross the border. Was kind of sweating it for awhile there. Not that we are criminals or anything but man
these guys take their job very serious. LOL
About a mile past the border we saw a bull moose standing on
the side of the highway. Pretty cool stuff right there.
The three of us, Mudmom, BigJake and myself,
Outlandish, are staying at the Travelodge
Motel and it has the worst web connection I've seen yet. Not recommended to anyone that needs connectivity but otherwise a decent clean place.
None of us have ever ridden wheelers here in Canada before and we
are looking forward to tomorrow's adventure.
I would like to
thank Kesa and Walleye Guy in advance for hosting this ride. Looks like
the weather is going to be great

Wow great ride today. Dusty and dry but way fun. We did about 95 miles and we had 10 ATVs riding in the group.
We rode to the Eagle Canyon suspension bridge
and some of us were brave enough to cross. There are 2 bridges. One is 600 feet across
and 155 feet above the canyon floor.. The other is 300 feet across and 125 feet high.
Here is a pic of the higher bridge taken from the lower one. It's a bit unnerving when these things start to swing and sway.
Here is the other bridge.

Since we had so much fun riding the first day, and of course since we were asked to ride on Sunday, some of us stayed another day.
Day 2 was a blast! Started off with a hearty breakfast at a Finnish restaraunt call The Hoito
. Pic
Excellent food!! Recommended. The ride had just enough rain in the morning to keep the dust down. Just enough mud holes and creek crossing to keep everything interesting.
Thank you to Kesa and WalleyeGuy for having us up for the ride. You guys are truely great hosts. We talked about it on the ride back to Minnesota,
and all of us agreed that this was our best trip yet. (except for the internet connection LOL) While we might not have
had a lot of riders, we sure had a lot of fun! We hope you will accept our invitation this fall for a ride in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
Those attending the ride were WalleyeGuy, Mrs WalleyeGuy, Kesa, Mrs Kesa, PoPo Rick, Traxter Bill,
Cementhead, Mrs Cementhead, BigJake, MudMom, and myself....
